Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gas-blast circuit breaker, capable of withstanding the bending stress occurred by a minimum cross section of an insulating rod for supporting between poles, at resistive contacts when making contact. SOLUTION: The gas circuit breaker provides a fixed support 15 for supporting fixed electrodes 13, 14 in a container sealing insulating gas, a movable support 9 coupled to the fixed support by the insulating rod 3 for supporting between poles which is made of a FRP, and supporting movable electrodes 6, 7 and the resistive contacts for making 11, 16 connected to the fixed and the movable contacts. In the gas-blast circuit breaker, the direction along the layers of fabric constituting the FRP of the rod is parallel to a plane 19 which includes the center axis of the chamber 18 providing the fixed and the movable electrodes and the center axis of the resistive contacts for making.
