Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface reforming method and a surface reforming apparatus by which the surfaces of various members are reformed by utilizing ultrasonic waves to obtain appropriate parts. SOLUTION: Ultrasonic vibration is given to a tool gear 6b for forming the surface of a work W, the surface of the work W is reformed by the ultrasonic vibration of the tool gear 6b. If the work W is formed of powder sintering metal, the surface density of the work is heightened by the loading of the ultrasonic vibration on the work W by the tool gear 6b to realize high strength.
