Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for controlling roughness by investigating the cause of a tendency to roughness when a solid transparent base utilizing a hydroxy higher fatty acid is used. SOLUTION: This solid composition for external use comprises (1) a composition A which contains a hydroxy higher fatty acid as an oil component and has 1.45-1.54 refractive index and (2) a composition B which contains a wax as an oil component in which a visually transparent part exists and the composition A and the composition B can be applied to the same part only as one product. Consequently, a controlling means in conformity with the cause of roughness is provided.
