Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely circulate milled rice within a rice washer for removing the bran from the surface of the milled rice and to uniformly and efficiently remove the bran from the surface of the milled rice. SOLUTION: A rice washing process step is started by feeding a prescribed amount of the milled rice into a rice storage container 2 and driving rotary vanes 4 which are freely rotatably disposed in the rice storage container 2 by a drive means 33. In the rice washing process step, the rotary vanes 4 press the milled rice to the sidewall of the rice storage container 2, by which the circulation to rise the milled rice in the rice storage container 2 and to move the same to the approximate center of the rice storage container 2 is repeated.
