Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a stringing vehicle as well as intermediate traction machines in laying an optical fiber cable over a long distance. SOLUTION: An optical fiber cable supply drum 6 is arranged in the proximity of a start end manhole M of a set laying section P. Also intermediate traction machines 1 are arranged in the manholes M at a set interval. Facing the terminal manhole M, a stringing vehicle 10 on which winding drum 7, mounted freely rotatably, is arranged. An extended rope is hauled via the intermediate traction machines 1 to be passed through a conduit line P, and its end is anchored to the winding drum on the stringing vehicle 10. Then, interlocking control is performed between the rotation of the winding drum 7 and the traction of the intermediate traction machines 1, to wind the extended rope by rotating the winding drum. Also, the intermediate traction machines 1 haul the extended rope and the optical fiber cable, to pass the cable through the set conduit line P.
