Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure projection performance and to make a display device small in size and light in weight. SOLUTION: This display device is equipped with a display optical unit equipped with a light source system having a light source, an illumination system radiating light from the light source to a display element, the display element controlling and emitting the radiated light, and a projection system projecting the light from the display element, and a screen on whose front surface data is displayed by projecting the light projected from the display optical unit from the back surface. The display optical unit has an adjusting mechanism adjusting the position of the projection system with reference to the display element, whereby the projection performance is improved and the display device is made small in size and light in weight.
