Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording method which gives an image record excellent in water resistance, particularly in abrasion resistance in wetting with water, to a recording medium excellent in a haze, glossiness, etc., by using pigment ink and to provide a recorded matter which is obtained by executing this method and excellent in image quality, the water resistance, etc. SOLUTION: The recording medium has an ink receiving layer provided at least on one surface of a substrate. After an image is recorded with the pigment ink on the surface of the ink receiving layer of the medium by an ink jetting mode, the recorded image is heated at a temperature of 70 deg.C or above in the ink jet recording method.
