Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide telephone equipment with which the livelihood of a user is not disturbed. SOLUTION: This telephone equipment is provided with a light quantity detecting part 132 for detecting peripheral lightness, time-detecting part 134 for detecting the time, communication part 110 for receiving a calling signal from a communicating party, threshold storage part 142 for storing the threshold for deciding a lightness division from a detecting signal from the light quantity detecting part 132, time zone storage part 144 for storing a time zone, ring back tone storage part 146 for storing the volume of ring back tones set corresponding to the lightness division and the time zone, and control part 160 for controlling the volume of ring back tones on the basis of the present lightness division and the present time, in response to receiving of the calling signal in the communication part 110.
