Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a syringe without causing any separated settlings of the elastic cover of a plunger in spite of high-pressure injection when the plunger advances into the syringe. SOLUTION: In the medical syringe 2 for fitting the plunger 4 into a syringe body 3 and advancing the plunger 4 with respect to the body 3 relatively to infuse an infusion agent filling a plunger body 5 into the circulatory system of a human body, the plunger 4 consists of the body 5 and the elastic cover 9 covering the body from its front side, the body 5 is provided with a back plate 62 at its rear end, an annular groove 68 opening forward is formed at the outer peripheral part of the front surface of the plate 62 to allow a part extended to the rear of the cover 9 when the plunger 4 advances to enter the groove 68 to escape.
