Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication controller that can enhance the security and the confidentiality of data transmitted according to an aisochronous transfer system. SOLUTION: The communication controller 100 divides a network in compliance with the IEEE 1394-1995 standards into segments A and B and controls relay of an aisochronous packet transmitted from a node belonging to the segment A according to an AV protocol. When a full inhibit mode is set, the communication controller 100 inhibits relay of aisochronous packets sent from all nodes belonging to the segment A. On the other hand, when the full inhibit mode is not set, the communication controller 100 inhibits relay of the aisochronous packets sent from a prescribed node belonging to the segment A according to the AV protocol.
