Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing and recovering phosphorus, aluminum and heavy metals from various carbonized materials by adjusting pH of a treatment solution. SOLUTION: The method for removing and recovering phosphorus, aluminum and heavy metals from various carbonized materials is performed by a process (1) for adding an acid to the carbonized materials to prepare the treatment solution, a process (2) for adding hydroxide, bicarbonate or carbonate of an alkali metal or hydroxide or carbonate of an alkaline earth metal to the treatment solution to adjust pH of the treatment solution to 4-5 and a process (3) for adding the hydroxide or carbonate of the alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydroxide to the treatment solution to adjust the pH of the treatment solution to 9-10. As a result, by a technique extremely easy in operation control, phosphorus in carbonized materials can be almost removed and recovered and, further, aluminum and heavy metals can be reduced to a large extent. Further, carbonized materials thus obtained are increased in adsorbing capacity by ten or more times and can be effectively reutilized as an adsorbing material.
