Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an image quality defect between a secondary transfer means and a carrying means in an image forming device for forming an image by transferring a toner image from an intermediate transfer body to the surface of a recording medium and carrying the recording medium, on which a tower image is transferred, by a carrying means. SOLUTION: In the image forming device for forming the image in such a toner image formed on an image carrier is primarily transferred to the intermediate transfer body, the toner image transferred to the surface of the intermediate transfer body is further transferred to the surface of a recording medium by the secondary transfer means and the recording medium, on which the toner image in transferred, is carried to a fixing device by the carrying means, before the recording medium arrives at the carrying means, the speed difference between the secondary transfer means and the carrying means is controlled based on detected result of a detecting means or instruction information of an instructing means.
