Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reflection layer material with high reflectance for the purpose of providing a reflective liquid crystal display device with high brightness by optimizing the amount of neodymium to be added in an aluminum- neodymium alloy. SOLUTION: The reflectance of the aluminum-neodymium alloy is heightened by addition of 0.5 wt.% to 3 wt.% neodymium. The liquid crystal display device is constituted as a reflective or a partly transmissive liquid crystal display device by using the reflection layer with the composition. By adopting a reflection film with the composition, a reflective liquid crystal display device realizing a bright and high contrast display can be provided.
