Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of oxide-coated cathode wherein dispersions of film thickness of electron emission substance layer are small by using a printing paste which has small viscosity changes by time. SOLUTION: Among solvents of dispersant and solvents of binding material in a printing paste, the boiling point of at least either side of solvents is made to have about 70 deg.C or less, and by making the solvent evaporate during the mixing of printing paste, viscosity changes of the printing paste due to the evaporation of the solvents are suppressed and dispersions of thickness of electron emission substance 3 are made small.
