Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting operability of a catalyst, which memorizes ignition temperature and a conversion ratio rCO of a carbon monoxide (CO), for purifying exhaust gas of a diesel engine by combining direct measurements of concentration of the carbon monoxide and measurements of temperature. SOLUTION: In order to evaluate the remaining catalytic operability of a catalyst, temperature TE of exhaust gas at an outlet of a catalyst and temperature difference ΔT between TE and ignition temperature TCO,50,flesh of the carbon monoxide in a new catalyst which is stored in the catalyst as a function of a speed and a load ΔT=TE-TCO,50,flesh are measured to determine the conversion ratio rCO of the carbon monoxide. |
