PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-packing capable of surely performing the uniform collection and redistribution of a liquid at a connection part and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The X-packing is formed by arranging unit structures (25) so that the adjacent unit structures form collection parts to collect 3 yarn like materials 23 at each apex (22c) of the common bottom face (22d) of two trigonal pyramids constituting a basic unit (22) to come into contact with each other. The unit structure is formed by arranging a plural number of basic units (22) each having a shape formed by combining two trigonal pyramids using the bottom face (22d) in common and having apexes (22a) positioned oppositely to each other in the vertical direction to bring the apexes into contact with each other.
