Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fining the solidified crystal grains of steel for obtaining a slab and a weld metal excellent in low temperature toughness and hot workability and to provide a stainless steel sheet excellent in surface properties by only prescribing components irrelevant to casting (solidifying) conditions. SOLUTION: In this production method, the solidified craytal grains of steel having a composition containing 0.002 to 0.05% Al, 0.0005 to 0.01% Mg, 0.005 to 0.5% Ti, 0.001 to 0.1% N, 0.001 to 0.1% C and 0.01 to 2.0% Mn, satisfying C+0.015×Mn<=0.09 and also satisfying Ti×N>=0.00003 are refined, or, in this production method, the solidified crystal grains of austenitic stainless steel having a composition containing >=10.5% Cr and >=4.0% Ni, and in which, the relation between the Cr equivalent and the Ni equivalent satisfies 0.73×Cr equivalent-Ni equivalent >=4.4, and also, the range of Ti×N>=0.0005 is satisfied are refined. |
