Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle detector which has its detection sensitivity and response speed made excellent and is improved in durability, and an axle detecting device which includes the axle detector. SOLUTION: The axle detector has three liquid-pressure sensor units 1 to 3 placed in a channel base 4 buried in a road to the road width determined by curbstones and a pressure plate 5 is pressed against and fixed to the channel base 4 with a fixture, e.g. a bolt 6. Here, a plurality of liquid-pressure sensor units are used to detect the traveling direction of the axle from axle detection time differences among the respective liquid-pressure sensor units 1 to 3.
