Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data multiplexer that realizes data transmission reception between an I/F and a communication section with a fewer numbers of signal lines. SOLUTION: The data multiplexer 1 is provided with I/Fs 10-1 to 10-n (n is a proper natural number) that are connected to a transmission line, such as a subscriber's line to send/receive data and a common section 30 that multiplexes received data and is provided with an LVDS(low voltage differential signaling) interface 12 and employs the LVDS system being a high-speed serial transfer system for data transmission reception between the I/Fs 10-1 to 10-n and the common section 30. Thus, number of signal lines interconnecting each of the I/Fs 10-1 to 10-n and the common section 30 is respectively nearly four resulting in decreasing number of signal lines provided to a backboard 20 of the data multiplexer 1. Thus, may more I/Fs can be provided to the data multiplexer 1, thereby increasing number of lines connectable to one set of the data multiplexer.
