Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having improved photomemory characteristics and very high performance in practical use while maintaining such basic characteristics of an electrophotographic photoreceptor as high sensitivity, low residual potential, high mobility and high durability. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor with a photosensitive layer on an electrically conductive substrate, the photosensitive layer contains an electric charge generating material, an electric charge transferring material having >70 ( ) calculated value (αcal of polarizability α by structure optimizing calculation using semiempirical molecular orbital calculation using PM3 parameter and <1.8 (D) calculated value Pcal of dipole moment P by the structure optimizing calculation and a compound having 50% transmittance at a longer wavelength than the electric charge transferring material.
