Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a power required for operation of a compressor by reduction of a thrust load in the same direction as that of a compression reaction force exerted on a drive shaft and to improve reliability of a shaft sealing device between the internal part of the compressor and outside air. SOLUTION: A suction chamber 19 and a discharge chamber 20 are formed in a front housing 12. A crank chamber 17 is formed between a cylinder block 13 and a rear housing 14. A drive shaft 18 has a first end part extending through the suction chamber 19 and protruding from the front housing 12 and second end part rotatably supported in a housing 11 in a state to be situated in the crank chamber 17. A half-head type piston 34 is contained in a reciprocating manner in a cylinder bore 33. A swash plate 38 supported in an inclining manner on the drive shaft 18 is integrally rotatably and axially movably coupled to a lag plate 36, integrally rotatably fixed on the drive shaft 18, through a hinge mechanism 39. A shaft-sealing device 26 is disposed in a spot communicating with the suction chamber 19.
