Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head supporting mechanism with which high-accuracy positioning is made possible by maintaining the high rigidity to the out-of-surface deformation of a head supporting member and diminishing the rigidity to in- surface deformation and a magnetic disk device using this head supporting structure. SOLUTION: The head supporting mechanism having a head for writing and reading out information, a suspension for supporting the head and a piezoelectric element which is supported at the suspension and deforms the suspension in the positioning direction of the head is provided with the suspension formed with a hole 10 made elastically deformable on both sides in a transverse direction between a stationary part 7 and a moving part 8 and the piezoelectric element 11 fixed to the suspension so as to be bridged at the hole 10. |
