Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a cover tape of a carrier tape separable easily without allowing the carrier tape to be peeled off partly and to prevent electronic parts from coming up or popping out when the cover tape is separated. SOLUTION: The belt material 20 for packaging small parts T is for housing the small parts T in a number of housing dents 22 arranged in the longitudinal direction and covering the housing dents 22 with a cover tape 30. The belt material is equipped with the housing dents 22 each formed, being depressed from the surface in the direction of thickness of the belt material 20 for housing the small parts T, and lowered surfaces 26 each being lower than the surface of the belt material and surrounding the housing dent 22 with its periphery partly arranged at the outside of an area covered by the cover tape 30.
