Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapping device that can ensure a sufficient space for a tap holding part, increase the types of mountable taps and facilitate a change of different types of tap. SOLUTION: A body member 8 is mounted on a press machine 2, and a lifting/lowering member 15 is provided with lowering motion by a ram 4 in the press machine 2. The lifting/lowering member 15 has a rotation-transforming nut part 14. A rotary screw shaft 16 threaded into the nut part 14 is rotatably arranged in the body member 8. A tap holder 17 is removably mounted in the body member 8. The tap holder 17 has a tap feed mechanism 19 for providing rotation and axial movement of a tap 18 when receiving rotation form the rotary screw shaft 16.
