Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for cleaning the exhaust gas of an automobile diesel engine. SOLUTION: The catalyst contains at least one kind of zeolite and additionally at least one kind of carrier oxide consisting of aluminum oxide, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide and aluminum silicate and at least one kind of noble metal consisting of platinum, palladium, rhodium and iridium, and an atom of noble metal has an average oxidation number smaller than +2.5, and the atom has a metal ligand larger than 3 in average and an oxygen ligand smaller than 3, and the noble metals exist on the zeolite and the carrier oxide in the form of the fine crystal having 1-6 nm average particle size. |
