Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the development of a crack in refractory for a refractory immersion structural body such as an RH immersion pipe, and elongate the life of the same. SOLUTION: In the refractory immersion structural body consisting of a core metal 1 and refractory 2, 3, 4, a gap 6 is provided in the lower part of an inner surface of the core metal from the lower end to the upper part of the same. In this case, the gap is preferably filled with a sheet type porous body consisting of refractory grains, a board consisting of ceramic fibers or a sheet type mixture of refractory grains and heat-burnt substance.
