Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of cladding or a method of increasing the welding speed of a material which has a high sensitivity of crack and a device therefor. SOLUTION: In a method and a device by which an item 22 is fixed on a surface 20, the item is preheated and so located as to be in contact with the surface. Then a laser beam 18 is directed to the contact point of the item and the surface. The energy and time required for melting the item by the laser beam are decreased because the item for fixing is preheated.
