Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an SDH transmission system that can reduce the cost and the mount scale without deteriorating a bit error of an optical-to-electrical transducing means. SOLUTION: The same consecutive code suppression means 16 apparently makes a transmission speed of an output of a low degree group SDH signal generating means 7 the same as that of a high degree group signal and a selection means 17 selects either of outputs from the same consecutive code suppression means 16 and a high degree group SDH signal generating means 3, a high degree group electrical-to-optical transducer means 4 converts the selected output into an optical signal and transmits it, a high degree group optical-to- electrical transducer means 5 converts the optical signal into an electric signal, a distribution mans 18 distributes the electric signal to a decode means 19, which descrambles a low degree group signal and a low degree group SDH signal termination means 10 outputs a normal signal when the output from the selection means comes from the same consecutive code suppression means 16.
