Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for handling an incoming phone call of the PSTN between on-line data network sessions when a subscriber line VA1 is interrupted. SOLUTION: A terminal TERA establishes connections VA11, VA1, VPOP1 to an on-line data network access unit POP via the VA1. The on-line data network access unit POP transmits present access data to the TERA, which transmits the data to a service computer SCP of a communication network. When an exchange station SW1 of the communication network detects that a call addressed to the subscriber line VA1 is received, the SW1 informs the SCP supplying at least a prescribed service for the purpose of processing an incoming call that this call is a standby state. For example, a message raising an attention to the incoming call is sent to the TERA or the incoming call is transferred to a substitute destination TERA 2.
