Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transporting roller for recording which decreases the number of parts and reduces a cost by obtaining required driving force only by the roller body without using a compression spring. SOLUTION: Rotating force to transport the recording medium is supplied to a roller shaft 2. The roller shaft 2 is inserted into a central hole extending in the longitudinal direction of the roller body 3. A pair of holding members 5 and 5b sandwich both ends of the roller body and compress and hold the roller body 3 in its longitudinal direction.
