Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide irregular toner having narrow distribution of the grain size of toner particles, to provide a method to easily obtain the above toner and to provide a developing device which uses the toner. SOLUTION: In the toner particles having the average particle diameter d (ranging from 4 to 15 μm), the proportion of particles having a particle size within d±0.2d expressed in terms of volume is >=90% of the whole toner. The specific surface area A (m2/g) of the toner per 1 cm3 measured by the BET method and the specitic gravity D (g/cm3) satisfy the relation of 7/(D.d)<=A<=10/(D.d). Thus, by narrowing the grain size distribution of the toner particles, the resolution of an image is improved, the toner having >=10 μC/g charge amount and extremely narrow distribution of the charge can be obtained, and higher definition of an image can be realized.
