Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction device for a vacuum cleaner with high usability in which the driving torque and dust collecting efficiency of a rotating brush are improved, dust collecting performance is improved, and dust collecting performance is improved even when air of higher pressure than atmospheric pressure is made to flow into a suction device body. SOLUTION: The suction device for a vacuum cleaner comprises both the suction device body 21 in which a suction opening 25 is open at the lower surface and the rotating brush 26 in which a dust brushing-up part 28 disposed in the outer circumferential surface is formed approximately in a V-shape along the longitudinal direction of the circumferential surface and rotation-freely disposed in the suction opening 25. By making air of higher pressure than atmospheric pressure toward the protruded side 28a or protruded side 28a and recessed side 28b of the dust brushing-up part 28, the driving torque and dust collecting efficiency of the rotating brush 26 are improved.
