Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a split-type discrimination tag attached to an arbitrary portion of a communication cable that may be easily disassembled as needed but not split by an inadvertent external force. SOLUTION: A split-type discrimination tag 10 comprises one complementary tag member 12 with a discrimination symbol 18 inscribed on its surface, and the other complementary tag member 14 for engaging the one tag member 12 to hold a communication cable 16. Either of the tag members 12, 14 is provided with a linear housing groove 14b for retaining a communication cable 16. The both complementary tag members 12, 14 are engaged with the communication cable 16 inserted in the linear groove 14b, thus fixed to the communication cable 16. Either side of the tag members 12, 14 is provided with engaging claws 12a, and the other with engaging grooves 14a.
