Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation method of 1-chloroheptafluorocyclopentene which is industrially advantageous and also easy in purification and separation without high purity 1,2-dichlorohexafluorocyclopentene as a raw material. SOLUTION: Mixture of at least two kinds of chlorofluorocyclopentenes (chlorine atom is combined to two unsaturated linkage carbons, respectively) and metal fluoride reacts in the presence of mixed solvent system consisting of a polar and a nonpolar solvent. Above chlorofluorocyclopentene mixture is fluorinated and 1-chloroheptafluorocyclopentene is obtained by removing by-produced 1,3- and 1,4-dichlorohexafluorocyclopentene from crude products.
