PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint-covered welded can drum for which embedment of resin into a stepped recess at a welded part is made effectively while thinning of a resin covering layer at a shoulder part of the welded part is prevented, excellent in combination of anticorrosiveness, adhesiveness, processability and sanitariness, and solso to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The welded can drum is characterized in that the interior face of the can is covered with a thermoplastic polyester film, excluding a welded part and a vicinity thereof, and the welded part and the vicinity thereof are covered with a two-layer thermoplastic polyester tape formed at least of a surface layer I and a bottom layer II, and the melting point or the softening temperature for the polyester at the bottom layer II is made lower by 10 deg.C or more than the melting point for the polyester at the surface layer I.
