Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head with increased productivity by sharing a manufacturing process, and which can be reduced in dimension in a track width direction and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A fist recording/reproducing part 2 is provided for recording/ reproducing a magnetic signal on a first magnetic disk by a first magnetic gap 7, a second recording/reproducing part 10 is provided for recording/ reproducing a magnetic signal on a second magnetic disk having a recording density different from that of the first magnetic disk by a second magnetic gap 16, and these parts are integrally formed in one slider 18. The first and second recording/reproducing parts 2 and 10 share one center core 4, the first recording/reproducing part 2 is provided with a first recording/reproducing core 3 joined to one surface 4a of the center core 4 to form the first magnetic gap 7, and the second recording/reproducing part 10 is provided with a second recording/reproducing core 13 joined to the opposite surface 4b of one surface 4a of the center core 4 to form the second magnetic gap 16.
