Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an icebreaker for reducing wave making resistance in the open water. SOLUTION: In this icebreaker 1 for arranging wave making fins 4, 5 on the board side 3 or the ship's bottom of a bow part, the wave making fins 4, 5 are constituted so as to be rotatable with the rotary shafts 6, 7 as the rotational center. The wave making fins 4, 5 are rotated in the open water to be positioned in a position orthogonal to the sailing direction of the icebreaker 1 and almost parallel to the draft line α. The wave making fins 4, 5 are rotated in an ice sea area to be housed in the hull.
