PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document class retrieving method and a device which realize flexible attribute designation retrieval, corresponding to the context of an individual retriever, while a viewpoint is not fixed by storing attributes not in every sentence but in a segment unit depending on the context, also store a structured document and data so as to be able to accurately represent the semantic structure of the document with various contexts and can suppress the cost for storing relation between the attributes, and to provide a storage medium, in which a document class retrieval program is stored. SOLUTION: With this method and device, the semantically structured results of the document are inputted, to which class information which is the concept of a context and segment information divided and hierarchized on the basis of the class are attached. The inherent ID of the document, the class information and the segment information which is division results, corresponding to the class to each attribute in the set of attributes being the structured results, are all stored in a database. They designate semantic relation between the attributes and retrieve the database.
