Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make completely effective use of a residue after bauxite is treated and to recover alkali to be used when bauxite is treated. SOLUTION: Adumina is extracted from bauxite by using an alkali aqueous solution so that a precipitated desiliconization product is not mixed in the other bauxite residues or is not reacted with the other bauxite residues to form no complex compounds. The alkali content is made dissolvable by burning the desiliconization product together with a calcium compound to be recovered, the alkali content is also removed from the residues (solids) and the recovered alkali contents are used as resources effectively. |
