Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for restraining scale generation in a water system causing the clogging of a shower nozzle and the deterioration of dehydration of felt and net of a sheeting machine in a sheeting process in the manufacturing process of a gypsum board for building materials. SOLUTION: This method for restraining scale in the water system is constituted in such a manner that one or more kinds selected from polymers which consist essentially of organic phosphonic acids, acrylic acids and/or maleic acids are added to the water system in the manufacturing process of the gypsum board for building materials.
