Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an ink jet recording sheet having the hand of photographic paper of a silver salt photograph and being excellent in surface smoothness, ink absorbing properties and properties of preventing environmental curling. SOLUTION: This method comprises a process wherein a porous ink receiving layer containing a pigment and a binding agent and being in the coating amount of 1-100 g/m2 is formed on one surface of a paper base constituted mainly of pulp and a process wherein a resin layer in the covering amount of 1-100 g/m2 is formed on the opposite surface to the above.
