PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a die life, to form a pressed ball close to a sphere and to shorten a time required for a grinding process after forming. SOLUTION: In the method, in which a die consisting of a fixed die 2 having a semi spherical recessed die face 1 and a moving die 4 having a semi spherical recessed die face 3 facing the die face 1 of the fixed die 4 is prepared, after a material M to be formed of a prescribed shape is inserted between the die face 1 of the fixed die 2 and the die face 3 of the moving die 4, by approaching the moving die 4 to the fixed die 2 and pressing the material M to be formed, a spherical pressed ball is formed, relief parts 7 are arranged between the die face 1 of the fixed die 2 and a facing face 6 except the die face 3 as well as between the die face 3 of the moving die 4, respectively. By this method, the burr B of the material M to be formed is not interposed between respective facing faces 6, 5 of both die 4, 2 in completing pressing.
