Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for monitoring print quality in real time in a digital system printer. SOLUTION: In a digital printing system, a document assembly tree having nodes describing the various parts of printing jobs is generated, and keywords specifying the delivery intervals of sample copies to be used for monitoring are included in the description of the nodes. The sample copies are prepared according to the keywords.
