Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic honeycomb structure capable of sufficiently carrying a catalyst, etc. even when it is thinner than before and excellent in mechanical strength, and also provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: This structure is composed of a lattice wall 11 having many cells 10 as a liquid passage and a peripheral wall 12 covering at least the periphery of the wall 11. The outer peripheral part 112 (section B) of the wall 11 positioned near the peripheral wall 12 is formed by a dense material with the porosity lower than that of the inner peripheral part 111 (section A) of the wall 11 positioned inside the outer peripheral part 112. |
