Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a polarizing plate which has high durability and whose transparent protective film is hardly stripped, if due to the effect of moisture or heat. SOLUTION: This transparent protective film is adhered to one side or both sides of polyvinyl alcohol based polarizing film, containing dichroic substance through an adhesive layer consisting at least of a water soluble cross-linking agent for vinyl alcohol based polymer to obtain the polarizing plate which is superior also in light transmissivity and polarization degree.
