Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive to reduce the number of parts of a writing utensil and make it possible to assemble the parts without employing a threaded structure. SOLUTION: This writing utensil is equipped with an outer tube 11, a refill 12 arranged within the outer tube 11 and a tail plug 13 for blocking the refill 12 by being installed at the rear end side of the refill 12. Stepped parts 21 and 33 are respectively formed on the tip side outer periphery of the refill 12 and on the outer periphery of the tail plug 13. When the tail plug 13 is fitted to the rear end of the refill 12 after the refill 12 is inserted in the outer tube 11, the outer tube 11 is pinched between the front end side stepped part 21 of the refill and the stepped part 33 of the tail plug 13, resulting in making them into an integral body.
