Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a porous cleaning material which is capable of well supporting microorganisms and which itself has an excellent water cleaning function. SOLUTION: The porous cleaning material which consists of calcium silicate hydrate, quartz and active carbon as essential components and has a void volume of 50 to 90% is prepared. This porous cleaning material is manufactured by preparing a water slurry consisting of siliceous raw material powder, calcareous raw material powder and active carbon powder as chief raw materials, incorporating air bubbles into this water slurry by a foaming agent or frothing agent, then solidifying and curing the slurry and further subjecting the slurry to steam curing at and under a high temperature and high pressure. |
