Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problem that it is sometimes impossible to pull in tracking into a target track because of large variation in the moving speed of an optical head, caused by driving a DC motor with a DC current after focus-setting at a home position of an optical card. SOLUTION: When making an optical head 204 access to a target track from a home position, the optical head is moved to the target track while performing the speed control by moving the optical head 204 relatively to the optical card 107 by driving the DC motor 209 by an open control with voltage driving, and changing over the driving of the DC motor 209 to current driving in the area where a track traverse signal is detected.
