Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball joint and a stand for a monitor television having structure capable of restraining dislocation of a ball stud. SOLUTION: It is furnished with a body part 3 provided with an enclosing chamber 12 having an opening 3b, a ball stud 7 having a spherical part 9 enclosed in the enclosing chamber 12 free to slide and arranged and a shaft part 8 made integrally with this spherical part 9 and projected from the opening 3b and to slide and incline with the spherical part 9 in the enclosing chamber 12 as a fulcrum, a base material 4 arranged to face against the body part 3 with the spherical part 9 in the enclosing chamber 12 between them and a screw ring member 6 free to adjust holding force to sandwich the spherical body 9 with the body part 3 and the base material 4 when the screw is tightened, and a shape of the spherical part 9 is formed of a non-spherical curved surface the radius of which becomes larger as it advances in the direction not to easily rotate the ball stud 7.
