Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a magnetic fluid with excellent stability under high temperature conditions when microparticles of ferrite are dispersed into low vapor pressure base oil using an oil soluble sulfonic acid based surfactant. SOLUTION: An oil soluble sulfonic acid based surfactant is added to organic solvent dispersion liquid of microparticles of ferrite coated with higher fatty acid, adsorbed at 140 deg.C or above and then collected. Subsequently, it is dispersed into low vapor pressure base oil to produce a magnetic fluid. |
